Each year, Laguna supports organisations that give back to our community and the world around us. Today, we would like to share these amazing platforms and teams with you to help spread their impact.
Too Good To Go
At Laguna, we hate food waste. We work extremely hard to ensure that we minimise waste at every opportunity. We also recognise that this is a much bigger challenge than what is happening in our kitchens. This is a global issue, which is why we partnered with Too Good To Go back in 2019.
Too Good To Go is a certified B Corp and social impact company dedicated to helping food producers connect with local communities to avoid good food going to waste.
Through their app, you can find ‘surprise bags’ filled with delicious food from restaurants, cafes and stores near you, which you can purchase at highly discounted prices.
“Since its launch in 2016, Too Good To Go has helped to save over 400 million meals from going to waste, the equivalent of 1.1M tonnes of CO2e avoided,” says the Too Good To Go Team.

Nishkam Sikh Welfare & Awareness Team (Nishkam SWAT)
Just as we are proud to fight against food waste, we also want to help financially disadvantaged communities in our area. To achieve this, we have partnered with Nishkam SWAT to donate over 150 free meals every week.
Nishkam SWAT is a charitable organisation based in West London, focusing on projects that make a tangible difference in the short term while improving long-term prospects. They call this the ‘essence of Langar’: Embracing equality and compassion through selfless service and shared meals.
Langar is a concept brought to us by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It is said that he was given 20 rupees by his father to start a business. On his journey, he came across a group of hungry Sadhus (holy men). He wondered, “How can you concentrate and pray if you are hungry?” So he chose to spend his 20 rupees on food (Langar) for the Sadhus instead of his own business. This was the beginning of what’s known as the “Sacha Sauda”, the real deal for profit for humanity.
Nishkam SWAT follows this same idea, sharing food and working on longer-term support for anyone in need.

Carma
Climate change affects all of us, and as a business, we feel we have to ensure we reduce our impact on the world and our community. As part of our efforts in this area, we plant over 1,200 trees every year, through our climate partner Carma.
Carma does things differently. Not only do they provide an award-winning platform for businesses, like Laguna, to support tree-planting days, but they also employ UK veterans to plant saplings, and 3% of their revenues go towards The Standing Tall Foundation, supporting the mental and physical well-being of individuals from all walks of life. Their efforts make a real difference to people and communities across the UK.
